Our Gold Leaf Female Body Candle Making Kit includes professional candle making supplies to make your own candles at home. Inside the kit you will find:
- 1 x reusable torso silicone mould
- 3 x coconut soy wax
- 3 x wicks
- 3 x fragrance oil (coconut milk, crisp apple & oak, peony blossom & peach nectar)
- 1 x gold leaf flakes
- 1 x pink wax dye
- 1 x brown wax dye
- 1 x stirring stick
- 1 x wick bar
- 1 x instruction card
Step 1 - Wick the Mould
Insert the wick through the hole at the based of the silicone mould and push it through to the opening of the mould. Place the wick bar over the wick to keep it secure and centred.
Pinch or squeeze the ends of the silicone mould to reveal the hole. This will make it easier to insert the wick.
Step 2 - Melt the Wax
To melt your wax, half fill a pot or pan with water and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Place your natural coconut soy wax in a heat proof jar. You can use a metal pitcher or a glass measuring cup. Now place the jar into the simmering water allowing the heat to melt the wax. Do not pour the wax into the water!
When your wax has melted remove it from the heat and stir in one fragrance oil and stir it with the stirring stick making sure it is well combined with the wax. Add wax dye chips to the hot wax and stir to dissolve. You can control the colour by adding more wax dye chips to intensify the colour. Less dye will create a pastel colour whereas more wax dye will create a brighter coloured candle.
Allow the scented wax to cool for about 5 minutes. If you have a thermometer on hand, aim for a wax pour temperature between 45-55 degrees Celsius.
Step 3 - Pour the Wax
Slowly pour the melted wax into your silicone female body mould. Allow the wax to set for a minimum of 24 hours. Candle making wax traditionally takes 1 week to fully cure, so keeping the wax in the mould for longer will result in a smoother and shinier candle.
The weight of the wax can tip the silicone mould over so make sure that your mould has something to lean against for stability like a tissue box. Leaning the mould against something straight will ensure that your female body candle has good posture and isn't leaning forward when you demould it.
Step 4 - Demould
Once your female body candle is fully set, carefully demould it by stretching all parallel sides of the silicone mould away from the wax figure. Don't be scared to pull. Our mould is made from extra stretchy silicone designed to make demould easier.
We recommend demoulding one shoulder at a time to prevent accidental breakage. Avoid long nails as this can easily damage the wax sculpture.
If you find that wax is sticking to your mould, try letting the wax cool for longer before you pour it into your mould with your next candle.
Another quick fix is placing your set mould into the freezer for 1-2 minutes. This contracts the wax from the silicone and makes demoulding easier.
Decorate your Candle with Gold Leaf Flakes
Time to turn your female body candle into a goddess sculpture! Use your finger, brush or the stirring stick to pick up the gold leaf flakes and place them onto the female body candle in the design of your choice. Pat the gold leaf flakes onto the candle to ensure they adhere well.
Gold leaf flakes not only make the candle more beautiful but also cover up any frosting or surface imperfections on the candle as a result of using 100% natural vegan coconut soy wax. However, think of the gold leaf like makeup, use it to enhance your features and embrace your feminine energy and unique qualities!
